A Letter to my Ex

A letter made a long time ago when someone broke my heart. A letter that was never sent and will never be sent. 

Dear ex, 

Thank you for making me laugh with all your silly jokes when I was sad. Thank you for all the kisses that warmed my lips. For your protective hugs that took away the emptiness of the night. Thank you for holding my hand whenever we cross the street. Thank you for whispering sweet words to my ears when I am in doubt. For giving me piggyback rides when I am too tired to walk. Thank you for the long walks and the beautiful sunsets that painted beautiful pictures in my dreams. For the flowers on that warm valentines day. Thank you for telling me beautiful even when my hair is a mess. For making my heart skip a beat when you wear that crooked smile of yours.

Thank you for disillusioning me about fairy tales. For shattering my forever after. Thank you for breaking my heart when I thought I was invincible. For making me realize that you cannot be trusted with my love. Thank you for letting me see what kind of a person you truly are. Thank you for all the false hopes that made me stronger. For the empty promises that made me see that you are a liar. Thank you for cheating on me and making me see that our love was never true.

Maybe it was the idea of true love that glued me to you for all those years. Maybe it was hope that you are the one that glued me to your lying heart. But now I see that your are not worth it and you will never be worth it. Your cheating heart broke me in two. And all I have is my thank you that I am finally free of you.
